Krissy ShoupPresidentKrissy is a Senior at Grand Valley State University and is majoring in Biology. She works at a dog kennel where she handles many different breeds of dogs and loves spending time with her dog, Zoey. She has lots of small animal experience as well as exotic. She has an interest in Zoological or Exotic veterinary medicine and hopes to one day specialize in radiology. Krissy is also assisting with student research in the Biology department during the school year.

Alexa LevinVice PresidentAlexa is a Junior at Grand Valley State University and is majoring in Biology. Her interests include small animal radiology and dermatology, along with general practice. During the summer she is employed at Animal Hospital Maple Orchard and Turtle Creek Farm. She has experience with small and large animals including exotic pets and wildlife. She is also a student researcher in the Biology Department. In her free time she loves to volunteer at animal rescues. Her favorite place is at home with her cat Hobbes and dogs, Jack and Dakota.

Jake McCallFinancial OfficerJake is a Junior at Grand Valley State University, who is interested in small animal and exotic veterinary medicine as well as owning his own practice. He is currently a research student working under Dr. Bruce Ostrow studying the development of sugar glider patagium. Jake currently works at an alpaca farm as well as Grand Valley's Vivarium. In his free time he shadows and volunteers under Dr. Koelzer at her non profit organization, Pets in Need, as well as shadowing under two other Veterinarians. He also enjoys spending time with his dog Bailey.

Alexa PastoriaSecretaryAlexa is a junior at GVSU majoring in Biology with the pre- veterinary emphasis (duh). She is interested in small, shelter and wildlife veterinary medicine. She spent this past summer studying abroad in Namibia learning about how the culture affects the environment through conservation. Her passion is riding horses on the GVSU Equestrian Team and working at harbor humane society during the school year. In her free time she loves to go on runs with her dog kota and spend days out on the lake on her boat.

Melanie SchnelbachPublic Relations OfficerMelanie is a senior this year with a major in biology and a minor in general business. She works at a veterinary clinic near home and volunteers at local kennels and a nature center. She is interested in small animal medicine and emergency care, and her golden doodle is her best friend!

Samantha SuperEvent CoordinatorSam is a sophomore at GVSU and is majoring in biology with an emphasis in pre-veterinary medicine. She is also a member of the Frederik Meijer Honors College at Grand Valley. Sam is interested in exotic and small animal medicine. She has a summer job as a veterinary assistant in the small animal clinic where she also shadows. She is involved in research with and care of sugar gliders in the Biology Department. Sam also plays intramural volleyball and enjoys yoga classes. Her favorite place is at home with her dog, Cole.
